Hard to believe that Joey is 12 (I say this every year). Here are a few things about my sweet boy:
He hates haircuts.
He eats every two hours almost on the nose.
He has braces on top and bottom row of teeth now.
He doesn't love the sport of baseball, however, he loves wiffle ball and 16-inch softball. Too bad those aren't organized sports for boys.
He plays basketball nearly every single day.
He is on the move pretty constantly....he doesn't like to sit much.
He still loves a hug and good night every night.
He texts me funny things sometimes....
He doesn't have a phone. He does want a phone but so far, he has not pushed the issue.
He still loves Spider-Man and is currently re-watching every Spider-Man movie we have in preparation for the next one coming up.
He loves to go out to eat now...this is more of a new thing. He still prefers to eat at home, or take food carry out but he's liking restaurants more now. And, he really likes to go out for breakfast.
He seems excited for middle school.
His best friends have pretty much remained the same from Sacred Heart....and his Lightning teammates.
He likes to swim but more likes to play basketball in the pool, or games in the pool. He tans very easily and loves the sun.
He likes to compete in anything, he likes us all to play as a family, he loves organized games of anything....and he doesn't stop asking until we all participate.
Once he is fixated on something, he can't let it go. We will re-visit the issue 19 times over until it's resolved, or he gets what he wants, or we play what he wants to play, or he eats what he wants to eat....
He is pretty easy going and laid back....nothing gets him too worked up. He shakes things off pretty easily.
He loves Michigan, Seattle Seahawks, New York Yankees and New York Knicks. He has a thing for New York, and really wants to visit Seattle some day.
So far, he's not too embarrassed by us....he hugs us often, tells us he loves us, wants us to be around his friends, and is pretty affectionate.
He loves singing....he sings in the car, in his room, and loves to pick out music to play on our speakers.
Anyway....
We had a great birthday party for him! On his actual birthday, he played basketball with some friends and then they came over afterwards for swimming and pizza! And, then we had a party for him on the weekend with family and swimming!
Happy 12th birthday to my oldest boy! I can't imagine doing life without him in it!
