A few odds and ends

Monday, February 1, 2016

A few of our odds and ends this January....

Favorite art work from Maddox:

A few of my favorite snapshots of Saylor this month.....

Maddox's hair is like a fourth child to me now. It has a life of its own. But, the big news is that the FIFTH GRADE GIRLS dig Maddox's hair. He told me they all want to "pet" his hair. And, sure enough, I showed up to school one day, and there was literally a crowd of girls around his head rubbing it. It cracked me up!

And, poor Joey...we are attempting some nasty-tasting fingernail polish to help him not bite his nails. So far, it's not working....but we are not losing hope. We will not be defeated.

More photos to come of basketball madness.....January has been pretty consumed with practices and tournaments!

Love Notes

Here are two reasons I love my boys!

Happy Lenten Season

Thursday, March 6, 2014

Here's a prayer via Joey to kick off the season of Lent!

If you can't read it: "Dear God, I am asking you to help me. I need help because I'm okay at basketball. Please love my grandma. They need love because she's 97! I ask that you help these people. L.O.V.E. Joey"

Our Lenten sacrifices:
Joe: No desserts
Holly: No desserts
Joey: Not pick on Saylor so much
Maddox: To try to have more self-confidence
Joey & Maddox: They have a calendar that has something for them to do each day of lent - read quietly, no snacking, early bedtime, no fighting, no video games, etc. It's pretty neat actually. Lucky for us- early bedtime is tonight! : )

Through Their Eyes

Sunday, February 16, 2014

It was a big week at our house- my birthday and Valentine's Day but also a few happenings at school. Here's a peak at our week through their artwork!

My Happy Birthday Card from Joey:
My Happy Birthday Card from Maddox:
A prayer that Joey wrote to God in school. My favorite line is "I love my brother and cousins. They're loving and fun." I'm confident he accidentally left out Saylor. : )
It was Catholic Schools Week and the halls were lined with artwork from every class about why they love their school.  Joey loves playing with his friends at recess.
Maddox loves that he can pray at school.
Saylor was VERY proud to give us this Valentine she made at daycare.
Maddox made us this homemade Valentine at school. He also made us a Valentine that says "I love you more than Wolverines. I love you more than honey on toast. I love you more than dogs. But I love you the most!" I got all excited and said "Maddox! You love me more than the Michigan Wolverines? WOW!" and he straight up looked at me and said "No, I was talking about the animal.....".  Gotchya.

And, Joey had a school project where he had to take a bear named Corduroy home for the week. Here are a few photos from Corduroy's time at our house (he also got to go to Gma and Gpa's house!)

It was a busy week at our house! And, it ended with Joey having the flu at midnight on Saturday night. It's not a holiday at our house unless someone is puking....
