It started out with a prayer….Joe’s and I’s went something like this “Dear Baby Jesus, Please let these boys behave at the football game, not keep us up all night, be easily bribed by candy, and want to come back to our house again! Amen!”
All dressed in our Dowling best! Dowling won! Woo hoo! (Poor Kevin was tackled at halftime!)
We went home for hot chocloate with marshmallows and whipped cream! Carter preferred the marshmallows and whipped cream over the hot chocolate!
We ended the night in our matching Batman pajamas (thanks Gma Bobbi!) and a cartoon!
(Seriously- has Batman ever looked SO cute? (Okay, maybe Christian Bale. Just sayin’)
The boys all had coffee cake in the morning and then we carved pumpkins and played football, gearing up for the Michigan-Iowa rivalry. Needless to say, we did not end up on the winning side of that ordeal!
It was a lot of fun! I always learn so much more about my nieces and nephews when they stay overnight with us…we get to wake up with them, hear what they like for breakfast, what toys they like to play with, what cartoons they like to watch….it’s the best. So many times throughout the night, Joe and I would look at each other and say, “Did you hear that?” or “You’ll never guess what Davis just said” or “You’ve got to come see Carter do this” – that’s the best part.
Our prayers were answered – thank you Baby Jesus! We had a great time! Can’t wait for next year!
