Here are some things that have happened with the boys in the past few days:· I sat Maddox down for 5 minutes on the lawn and he ate a whole clump of dirt. He actually chewed it like it was apple cobbler or something. Seriously, the kid wants to eat so much, he’s now resorted to dirt. The challenge: how do you get dirt out of an 8-month old’s mouth?
· Joey picked up Remsy’s poop with his bare hands. I didn’t have the pleasure of being witness to it because I was in the bathroom getting the dirt out of Maddox’s mouth. All I heard was this from Joe’s mouth, “Joey, why would you do that? That’s disgusting and gross. Don’t ever, ever do that again. Don’t get it on me! Watch your hands! Sick! Why would you do that?” In my head I couldn’t fathom what Joey had done that was making Joe freak out like that. Later, Joey walked up the stairs and said, “Mommy, I just did something very mean. I picked up Remsy’s poop with my hands” and he hung his head in shame. He gets mean/naughty confused, by the way. We’re not sure why he did this, but we are most certainly sure it will never happen again.
· Maddox can now feed himself his own bottle – however, if you even show him your hands and that you’ll do it for him, he’ll drop it. But, if you give it to him and leave him, he’ll do it himself.
· Maddox is crawling like a madman! He’s all over now! In some respects, it makes it easier because they want to be more independent and can get a toy on their own and stuff. On the other hand, they can crawl to the electrical outlet, they can fall down stairs, they can get their legs stuck in every possible opening, etc. Time to get the gates up!
· Maddox can play pat-a-cake – or clap at least! It’s too cute! He’s so proud of himself.
· Joe left for the Ozarks to go to a bachelor party. He left on Thursday morning at 6 a.m. and gets back Sunday afternoon, so I’m going to try to blog every day he’s gone so he can catch up on everything the kids did while he’s gone.

Lastly, we went and played with Davis Jake last night at Kelly’s house. Tony was golfing with Jeno, so it was just Kelly and I and the kids. The night was actually a breeze with three boys. Joey and Davis played at the park and then jumped on the trampoline. The best part was Davis laughing on the trampoline and Davis tackling Joey. Kelly said that’s a new thing he j
ust started- tackling and wrestling. It was funny watching him take Joey down instead of the other way around! They played really good together actually. We went inside for pizza and more playing after that, and then finished the night up with bath time. Davis didn’t quite know what to do with two other boys in his bathtub! When I tucked Joey in last night, I said, “What was the best part of your night?” And, he said, “Jumping on the trampoline with Davis and he started laughing. Mom, he laughed a lot!”· When we walked in the house last night, he looked and said, “Good night moon, I’ll see you later!” This morning, when he got up, he walked into my room and said, “Mom! I have to tell you something! The moon went bye-bye and it’s not raining anymore and the sun is up!” He was smiling ear to ear. Too bad he wasn’t right- it rained and there was no sun today! Aw, Pickles! He then climbed into bed with me and said, “Mom, where’s daddy? Is he at the gym?” I said, “No, he went on a trip.” Joey hung his head and did his fake cry and said, “But, mom, I want to go on a trip with daddy! I miss him so much, mom.” Boy, my heart aches for children who don’t have such good daddies. Only 2 more sleeps until he’s home and we can’t wait!

If you blog every day because Joe's gone, then Joe should be gone more often! Although I wouldn't want that for you guys, so I suppose I will put my personal needs aside for the good of your family. But I'm excited to read about your adventures all weekend long!
