Congrats, Kate and Kacey!

I had to post this morning on some exciting news we received during the CMA Awards last night...

Well, let me back up first...Kate and Kacey (Joe's cousins- see their MySpace page on my website list) have a small feature in the Country People Magazine out this month. It's the magazine with Faith Hill on the cover. So, woo-hoo for that.

But, much bigger than that is this: George Strait won Album of the Year for his album titled "Troubadour" - the hit single on it is "I Saw God Today". In Strait's acceptance speech, he thanked all the songwriters who contributed to his cd- that would be Kate and Kacey! I like to think that George was thinking of Kate and Kacey at that moment. : ) I mean, seriously, I've been a country fan for a long time, and George Strait is the king of country. The real deal. The pudding in the cake. The toy in the Happy Meal. He's stuck around for a lot of years- longevity is key to a successful music career, and Kate and Kacey can now say they were a part of it. Wow. What an honor. And, yes, he had a great single - but to win Album of the Year, the whole kit and caboodle has to be good - including the song that Kate and Kacey worked on.

Kate and Kacey- keep your dreams alive! We are so proud of you. High fives all around. Don't forget the little people like myself when you're the one up on stage someday....
