The weekend was fbgggggbbbbbbgbbbbhxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxccccccccvb fhnbfyhjlkio'i

Okay, that was Joey's contribution to my blog. I went up to pat Maddox's back and that's what he did. I said, "What are you doing?" and he said, "My boss told me I could." He's been talking about his boss a lot, he goes to the office a lot and makes us money so I can buy him more toys. I wish he'd refer to me as his boss one of these times...

Anyway, Joe's team won the state softball tournament. Maddox and I joined Joe and Joey in Marshalltown around 4 p.m., in time for the next game. Iowa weather graced us again with a downpour rain on Saturday night- fun times with a 1-year old and a 3-year old. We made it and were back at the hotel around 10 p.m. Maddox fell asleep instantly and didn't wake up until 8 a.m.! AND....NO poopy diaper! We all rejoiced- including Joey! Joey asked for a 'sleepover' in Gma and Gpa's hotel room so he stayed there. I missed him though- it's kind of fun to wake up next to a tiny little boy with eyes closed so peacefully....Maddox, on the other hand, slept in the bathroom in a pack-n-play! Hey- whatever does the trick! My sister-in-law Kelly taught me that one.

Anyway, Sunday came and it was a long day. We had breakfast at "Cecil's Cafe" which we totally loved because of Maddox Cecil and Gpa Cecil. Check out the photo!

We played great and won the whole tournament! It was a great day! But, it was hard with the boys. Joey was constantly asking for some form of sugar- a sucker, gum, pixy stick, a lolli, m&ms, skittles, a donut....it never stopped. Maddox "discovered" the sucker when I had no other form of entertainment while it was pouring on us. I pushed Maddox in the stroller constantly all weekend long. I wonder how many miles I put on that Graco! But, overall, the kids were great. We had to nap in the car a couple of times but we all survived. Joe is great help when the games are over. He immediately steps in and gives me a little break because during the games, my hands are full. Although, the other moms, wives, girlfriends all help out which is huge. Most of the other kids there are older than mine so everyone is so willing to help me as they've 'been there, done that' a million weekends before me. Although it was hard and trying at times, I decided that it's best if we try to stay together as much as we can. Soon, we'll be going in 10 different directions to different practices and games and I try to remind myself that these days will be gone before I know it. I'm so glad Joey went with Joe on Friday night. On Saturday, all the players were talking to Joey and he knew all of them and was giving high-fives and everything. It's good for him to be around such good influences- they all are so good with him and so patient. The next tournament is Nationals in Chicago and the boys will be with my parents....

Off to bed! The Olympics are on and I have to say I SO enjoyed the US Mens Swimming team beating the trash-talking French last night! I got goosebumps watching it and could have watched it 100 times in a row. It was also fun watching the gymnastics.
Oh- one more funny story about Joey. One day, I put him in some kacky shorts and a nice shirt, And, he goes, "Mom, why do I have to wear my church clothes? I just want to wear my Nikes!" Does that tell you how often I put him in nice clothes? He's always in gym shorts and t-shirts- he's just that kind of boy. But, I've been feeling bad that he only wears his cute stuff to church so I brought them out one day. Now, I know better. This future catholic school boy is in for a rude awakening someday!

Here are a few more photos of the weekend! This one is of Joey's best buddy, Ashley- her mom takes care of Joey.

All the kids celebrating their dad's win! This is the life for Joe - he and his two boys...Seriously, does it get any cuter than this???

LOVE LOVE LOVE those photos...the last two are my favorites and you're right about running in all different directions. It happens sooner than later and I can't imagine the schedules to keep track of with 3 boys!
