This fall and winter took this family by storm....the days were short, the nights were filled with activities, and time slipped away (as did my blog). But, I didn't want the year to go by without a Christmas recap. Our Christmas schedule went like this:

Saturday night, December 15th: Joe and Bobbi's Christmas
Saturday afternoon, December 22nd: Christmas Church Service at Lutheran Church of Hope
Saturday night, December 22nd: Echo Valley
Sunday afternoon, December 23rd: Gma Remsburg's Christmas
Monday all day, December 24th: My mom and dad's Christmas
Monday afternoon, December 24th: Gma and Gpa Bruggeman come to my mom and dad's for Christmas
Tuesday morning, Christmas Day: Drive back to Des Moines
Tuesday morning, Christmas Day: Santa comes to our house
Tuesday early afternoon, Christmas Day: Christmas for GG at Aunt Bobbye's House
Tuesday night, Christmas Night: Stop by Bobbi and Joe's to see Tony and Kelly's crew one last time; Celebrate with Jesus Birthday Cake (I made Apple Fritter Cake this year and it was a hit!)
Wednesday night, December 26th- Celebrated Carter Coppola's birthday
Christmas Week: Put away gifts, Christmas decs, etc
Sunday, December 30th- Celebrated at Gma Taylor's house
Monday night, December 31st- New Year's Eve- We watched my nieces overnight and rang in the new year by being in bed at 10 p.m....we are officially old.
In between activities, both Maddox and Joey had their school programs!
Here are a few photos from our celebrations!
Some favorite memories of this Christmas:
* The Coppola Cousins performing on stage their Christmas carols from school
* The prayer at Aunt Bobbye's Christmas
* The Remsburg Cousins performing a play for my parents
* Maddox singing "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" for my gma and gpa Bruggeman
* Joey and Gabe at the school program - they talked the entire time, giggled the entire time, and Joey told me they were laughing about how funny it would be if someone pooped their pants on stage.
* Maddox's program - he sang so loud and was really into all of the actions.
* Church on Christmas Eve- Saylor was a treat and both Joey and Maya got in trouble for messing around.
* Watching all the little kids dance at Echo Valley
* All the great stocking stuffers at Gma Remsburg's house
* Joe receiving a photo of my cousin, Jenny, at Christmas (it was his favorite gift, I think)
* The Remsburg Christmas was once upon known as "The Christmas of Holly's Buttcrack" but Jon renamed it the "Christmas of Holly's Leggings."
* It was one of the few Christmas' that we had a whole day at my mom and dads!
As always, it was exhausting but it was still fun. The boys are a lot of fun because they are old enough to watch their reaction to the gifts they've wanted for a long time; but Saylor is fun to watch because she's so little she still enjoys the wrapping paper and the boxes more than the gifts.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good 2013!
