First day of school

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

It was the first day of school today. Joey will go to school on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9-11:30. It's perfect "errand" time for me on Tuesdays, and on Thursdays, Grandma Bobbi will take him, and on Fridays, I'll take Joey but Maddox will go to Lisa's.

First morning before school went okay. Joey got to pick breakfast- waffles. And, then we dressed up in "church clothes" as Joey calls them. Then, we got to play a little. And, that's when World War III broke out here. Maddox received Tom Brady, a Michigan Wolverine, as a gift from Ben (Joe's friend) and they BOTH wanted to play with it. So, Joey would take the football away, Maddox would hit Joey with Brady's leg, Joey would pout, Maddox would scream....and, the end result is Tom Brady residing on the top of the refrigerator until the two can learn to share. Here are some mid-fight photos.

Anyway, we dropped him off at school. Joey went up to the teacher and said, "Hi. Do you know that I can draw a hot dog with mustard on it? Uh-huh. I can." And, he was off- but did reach out to give me a kiss. Here are a few photos!

Like I could finish without posting proof of the hot dog. YES, this IS a hot dog. With ketchup AND mustard to boot. May our mornings be happier, may Tom Brady get to be released from the fridge and may mommy not tear up at the next drop-off!
