I have a mental list of a few places in the United States that I want to visit...and a lot of them require a visit in the summer. We certainly don't have a lot of free time in the summer, but this year, Joe made it a priority which I was extremely thankful for! Soooo.....Seattle, here we come! I have never been to the west coast before so it was an opportunity for that, and I wanted to see the mountains and the sea at the same time....
We took a direct flight from Omaha to Seattle, which was really easy. We got in late, were a little crabby, and a lot hungry. We went to a fabulous restaurant though and we all settled in! We ate at a really great restaurant called Elliotts!
On Day 2, we headed to Top Pot Doughnuts which is a Seattle staple. This is when the kids started a string of spills on our trip...we literally spilled at every place we went to. The bill for a dozen donuts and drinks was $40.
We then made our journey to the Space Needle. It was one of the best parts of the whole trip! The views were magnificent! Joey and Saylor absolutely loved it. And, they opened the new glass rotating floor just a few weeks ago! Maddox was not so brave and did not enjoy the heights.....
We then took the kids to this really fun, funky, artistic playground outside of the Space Needle! It was fun to just sit and watch the kids play and explore some place new!
We then went to the Museum of Pop Culture which was a huge museum dedicated to a lot of movie artifacts, as well as some music, digital and artistic stuff. This was probably the biggest museum I've ever been to....and the most "fun" museum by far. They had a huge Marvel Comics exhibit that was SO awesome! We all truly loved it!
By the time we did all of these activities, we were starving! We headed to the Crab Pot for a big seafood feast!
We cleaned up this meal! Hardly a bite left! After the big meal, we went home to nap before we hit the Seahawks game! The game was great....I loved watching Joey watch the game- his eyes lit up and he was cheering with the crowd and everything! Maddox and Saylor got a little tired and that time change was doing us all no favors....
Day One was absolutely packed with fun.....we walked almost every step of the way and we were spent at the end of the day!!!
