On Friday night, I had everyone to my house - we all brought wine, cheese, and I made bread and salad and chocolate covered strawberries! We hung out, and talked, and ate and drank! At 10 p.m, Jenny went to Heather's and Aubree and Kim stayed at my house!
On Saturday morning, we got our makeup done at Merle Norman! Gma gave us money for this and we all picked out new makeup! After that, we went shopping- a few boutiques, bargain stores, and the mall! We did lunch at Noodles and Co (or Noodles and Company - whichever you prefer to call it - see below).
Before makeup.....
After makeup....
And, we ended our night by going to Wellmans Rooftop Pub at about 5:30 - we stayed until almost 10 p.m. before heading back to the hotel!
Memories:
- This was Aubree's first ever cousins weekend
- Kelly couldn't come because she didn't feel good. : (
- Jenny getting yelled at by Merle Norman for not thoroughly taking off her makeup (she got scolded more than once)
- Heather and Jenny getting yelled at by Guthrey for being too loud
- The Merle Norman lady kept saying that Kim's lips needed re-done
- the Merle Norman lady kept referring to Jenny and I as sisters
- Holly's inconsistent park jobs and the pressure put on her to park well
- Kim refusing to get us cheesecake (this didn't actually happen, we just wanted to blame not having dessert on someone)
- Door being slammed on Aubree's face as she yelled "coming through" notifying everyone she was going to be coming through the door
- Bride to be puking in the bar bathroom, and flooding three stalls
- Obnoxious lady at the boutique store who was overly dramatic and over-expressed every emotion possible
- Jenny's "liquid ass" story from her school (a kid cleared her classroom out with a bottle of 'liquid ass' he bought on Amazon.com)
- Merle Norman lady INSISTING that I do not have brown eyes (Seriously?)
- Kim getting serious peer pressure to spend money on SOMETHING!
- I may or may not have peed my pants due to laughing so hard in the hotel room
- When Heather and Jenny were at Starbucks and they asked for a name, Heather replied "Farthead" and the Starbucks guy was NOT amused
- When Kim went to the bathroom at lunch, we all got in the car and left her
- Jenny telling Kim that I had no Sprites to mix with her wine....and yet, there was a whole row of Sprites in my fridge!
- Holly calling "Noodles and Company" "Noodles and Co" and Jenny criticizing it
- Kim eats like an average third grader (her tastes have not matured one bit)
- Aubree was super stoked to get to watch tv before bed two nights in a row
- Trying different wines and cheeses
- After discussing ideas for the next cousins weekend and all of us discussing the social canvas/painting classes, Jenny pipes up and yells "I know! We could do a painting class!"
- Aubree and I watched a murder mystery on 20/20 on Friday night that included the line "He wanted a nose job, so I gave him a nose job!"
- Holly getting $10 off for Jenny at Victoria's Secret by asking for it!
- Laughing til our stomachs hurt e
Following the weekend, something was smelling in my fridge, and I thought it was the wide variety of cheeses we had on Friday night. After a thorough cleaning of my fridge, I found out it was chicken breasts. After a very lengthy text session with my cousins, the chicken ended up triple bagged, then garbage bagged, and then thrown in our bush in the front of the house. They stayed in the bush for a week...and the laughs over the "chicken in the bush" continued every day for a week. The highlight of it came when the landscaper guy came to our house, stopped in front of the bush, and we both stood there and stared at the garbage bag in my bush. I didn't address it at all, and literally it took everything in me to not laugh out loud. But, what was I to say "Oh, if you were wondering- that is a bag full of smelly chicken breasts in my tree"??? But, this story brought me so much amusement all week long (for the record: Joe did not find the humor in it as much as we all did).
Another year will pass before we get to re-share all the memories of years' past and all the good times ahead. So, cheers to the chicken in the bush!
