Christmas Eve with G$

We met at Gma Remsburg's house for Christmas Eve. It's always a great Christmas. Everyone was there but Jeff and Aubree so they were missed. We opened up so many fun stockings and gifts! And, we always put together a calendar for Gma Phyllis and Gma loves looking through that!

After presents, the kid put on a Taylor Swift performance of "Shake It Off" for Gma Phyllis. She enjoyed watching all the kids sing and dance- even my boys participated! The kids are so much fun to watch grow up together!

After the concert, we headed to Christmas eve service at Gma's church. We had 11 kids under the age of 12, I think. I loved watching them all in one pew squeezed close together, whispering to each other, getting in trouble for giggling, trying to see over people's heads, moving seats, waving at people, being up and down, up and down - that's how we were growing up, too (although there weren't as many of us!). So, I snapped some photos of us at church!

Church was perfect. It reminded me of the Charlie Brown Christmas program. The little kids were so cute, the message was great, and it was this little church (90% were probably related to me) coming together for Christmas eve. There was a lot of sadness in our pews as family members were going through their first Christmas without the ones we love most, so we needed a little joy to remind us what it's all about. And, on that night, I looked around at all the cousins who love me and my kids, my grandma who is still here with us, both of my parents....there's still a lot to be thankful for even in sadness. And, I still love the little treat bags they hand out at Christmas eve- even the adults get them at this church!

That treat bag came back to haunt me- Joey took a bite out of it and lost a tooth. There was blood, no kleenexes, about two drops of water, Saylor was yelling about the movie, Maddox was hot and thirsty, and Joe was all around frustrated. Nothing like leaving mass and heading into mass chaos! : ) I couldn't help but just laugh as Jon and Kim are texting us and we're all laughing about life with three kids on Xmas Eve. It doesn't get any better than this!
