I'm not one for published photos, but I decided that some day, I might regret not taking photos like this with my grandma. My grandpa's health has been up and down lately and certainly serves as that subtle reminder that life is short. So, with that, I volunteered.
Here's a little bit about my Grandma Doris:
* She loves to decorate and every time I go to her house- she has something new out or a new decorating idea for me to take back to my home.
* She's picky about where she eats and what she eats.
* She says "daresome" as in "You daresome do that." I really don't think I know anyone else who would use that word.
* She has this cabinet in her bathroom and when we were little, Heather and I both had "baskets" and every time we would go over there, we would check our "baskets" and see what fun trinkets Gma would put in there.
* She likes bacon. A lot.
* I used to stay with her for a week in the summer and we would go out for supper in Lidderdale almost every night I was there and I thought that was so awesome.
* She has a great sledding hill outside of her house. I'm not sure how many times we would go there but the times we did certainly were memorable.
* She writes the shortest yet neatest notes. I save the majority of them. Most of the time, she doesn't even sign them.
* She compliments me whenever she sees me - on my house, or my scarf, or on the kids. She almost always says something kind which lifts me up.
Here's a few photos from our day!
