We celebrated Maddox's birthday last weekend! He turned FIVE! I can hardly believe it! We celebrated at home that morning with just our family with blueberry muffins (his favorite!) and gifts. We got him a Batman guy, some Michigan pants, a lego platform and a Charles Woodson football guy! Then, we had his family birthday party on Sunday with everyone! We did a little golf theme - despite his desire for a Jesus theme....maybe another time. We had a great time- I think it was the first party where all of the grandparents could make it! He got a lot of great gifts and loved being the center of attention!
Joey's first day of first grade was yesterday! Maddox was a little sad that it wasn't HIS first day yet, and I think he knew he was going to miss his Joey! Here are some things he told me about his day:
* Henry, Quinn and Teddy are at his table
* Finnian is a "really nice guy" - I thought it was funny he used those words!
* He played tag with Kenyi at recess
* He had chicken nuggets for lunch
* He gave his teacher two thumbs up and said "she's really nice"
* We're not loving the whole "shirt has to be tucked in and belt is required" change...his teacher's assistant is apparently really strict on dress code, too!
* He got to read at his table during quiet time.
And, in other milestones, Saylor Lynn is almost one! She stood up today for about 30 seconds all by herself! Walking may not be far away- she's getting more brave every day! The boys did not walk until 13 months so I'd still be surprised if she walks earlier. However, she does try to keep up with them a lot!!
Time to get back into a routine! I think we're ALL ready!!!

That's so funny! Lexi wanted to have a Jesus party, too. And she wanted her preschool aid to come and read Jesus stories. It makes your heart warm that they have such a love for our awesome God! I hope he had a great birthday!
