Joeyisms and Mad Dawgies

Another quick round....First off, I wrote down some of Maddox's prayers because he says the sweetest, nicest, and saddest prayers I've ever heard and pretty soon, I know he'll do just a generic prayer so I wanted to make sure I wrote down a few of his prayers from his heart!

Maddox's prayer: Dear God, some people are good. Some people are bad. The good people don't like the bad people. They want to kill the bad people. Amen.
(A silent 30 second pause)
Joey: Um, I would never use the word "kill" in a prayer!
(Joe and I just cracked up laughing!)

Maddox's prayer: Dear God, We are sooooo sad when kids are hungry. Thank you so much for all of this food. Amen.

Maddox's prayer: Dear God, It makes us soooo sad when people die. Amen.

Maddox's prayer: Dear God, We love Bethlehem. Bethlehem is a long long ways away. There is like nothing there. They don't even have very many houses there. They just have angels and sheep and horses. But Mary and Joseph had baby Jesus there. Baby Jesus rose two times. God, Bethlehem is just the nicest place on Earth. Amen.

Maddox's prayer: Dear God, Lots of people don't have things like we have - like they dont have toys and clothes and a house. But, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that we're together. Thank you for giving us your only son. He saved us. We love you. Amen.

Joey: maddox, you are like the funniest kid that mom and dad have ever had.

Maddox: Why didn't you name me Denard? I wish my name was Denard.

Joey had just had a play date and the little boy, Hale, has an older brother and sister.  Hale's mom dropped Joey off and said, "Well, I told Joey that he probably heard a bunch of naughty words from Hale's older brother and sister, but Joey said, 'Don't worry, my mom and dad say "butt" all the time!'"

Maddox was talking to Saylor in her crib and I could hear him in the monitor upstairs and he said to her, "Saylor, you're like a real, real, real, real, real life angel."

Maddox: Mom, when does Saylor get bathtized again?

Joey: Mom, why do I always have to go to bed with a whiny brother??? ughhhh!!!

Maddox: Is Denard going to come to our Christmas???

I was making muffins for Joey's teacher who was sick and Joey walked in, looked at my Kitchen Aid Mixer and said, "So, mom, you finally going to use that thing???"

Maddox wrapped himself in my new blanket and I said, "Maddox, don't you just love that new blanket? It's so soft and warm and fuzzy."  And, he said, "I do, mom. Which Grandma made this blanket?"  : ) Um, the Pottery Barn Grandma????

Maddox had to bring something to school he was thankful for and I suggested a picture of his new baby sister.  He replied, "I know! I know what I'll bring!!!" and he ran downstairs and brought a football up with him and I said, "Oh? Football?" and he said, "No, mom, COLLEGE FOOTBALL. This is a college football and I'm SO thankful for it!"

I was at Joey's school volunteering and I got to see all of their "thankful prayers" on the wall.  One little kid came up to me and said, "See what I'm thankful for? I'm thankful for Jesus!" Then another kid walked up and said, "I'm thankful for Jesus AND God!" Then, another kid came up to me and said, "I'm thankful for my mom and dad!"  I was quickly scanning looking for Joey's and another kid came up to me and said, "There's Joey's!! He's thankful for Mario and Luigi!!!"  (Um, wasn't exactly the answer I was looking for out of him!)

After Saylor's baptism, Father Hess was leaving and Joey said, "Father Hess, now that you know where we live, you can come over any time!!!"

These are GREAT! It reminds me of my niece and nephew when they were younger - we'd keep track of their "famous lines" because they're so stinkin cute! Hope you guys had a great Christmas!
