Oh, Baby! Big News!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

This past Thursday night, Joe's family and my family got together for dinner at Rube's Steakhouse. Joe and I decided this would be the perfect night to announce our big news - the newest addition to our family (I have most recently referred to my Kitchen Aid Mixer as the newest addition, but this time, I'm talking about a real baby!). Tony and Kelly couldn't make it (as they live in Decorah) and my dad ended up getting the flu - so we did have to announce the news without them sadly. But, I'm pretty sure we surprised everyone else! We had talked a lot about having another baby with Joey and Maddox but explained that it would be awhile....so we finally got to tell them, too!! Here's an interview with Joey and Maddox about the news!

How did the baby get inside my stomach?
Joey: God sent it in there.
Maddox: God stepped in and put it in there.

When will the baby be born?
Joey: 90 days
Maddox: 5 days

Do you want a girl or a boy?
Joey: A girl- a sister.
Maddox: A boy- a brother.

Why do you want a brother/sister?
Joey: Because we only have one girl in our family and we need another Coppola girl.
Maddox: Because its better to have brothers.

What do you want to name him/her?
Joey: If it's a girl- Flower. If it's a boy - Michigan.
Maddox: If it's a girl- Heart. If it's a boy - Shoelace or Tom Brady.
Joey: Can you change my name to Mario?

What will be the best thing about having a baby?
Joey: I can play with her.
Maddox: I would say to him, 'Do you want to play Winter Wipeout?' And, if the baby does not know how to play, I could teach it."

How many bottles do you think the baby would eat a day?
Joey: 2
Maddox: 600

Where will the baby sleep when he/she gets here?
Joey: In the basement.
Maddox: In my bed.

How will you help mom and dad take care of the baby?
Joey: I will put her in the bed.
Maddox: Yeah, I will lift the legs, and Joey will lift the back, and then we will put it down softly.

What toys will you share with the baby?
Joey: I will give her the ones I don't like anymore. And, she can have my car seat that I had when I was a baby.
Maddox: I will share my Superhero toys.

How many times do you change a dirty diaper a day?
Joey: 920
Maddox: 728

How do you be the best big brother?
Joey: I will buy her a baby coloring book with my own money - but you have to give me some. I will draw her a picture of a flower because girls like flowers.
Maddox: I will be nice to it, and I will spin around.

The baby is due September 14th...I'm almost 12 weeks along! The first trimester has been pretty uneventful....primarily because I have slept through most of it! I am very tired, and pretty nautious. But, still trying to embrace this pregnancy, knowing that it's my last one (unless God has other plans!) You know, they say "One and Done" or "Two and Through"....wonder what three is? "Three and Free"?

Yippee!!!! Can't wait to be an auntie again! :) That sign is funny...if you didn't know that we were at a "western" themed party, it would look like you were excited to have a cowboy or cowgirl baby! Not that that wouldn't be cool! :)
