Here’s a few things we’ve been doing in February to keep busy!
We made these snowmen on a stick….just took big marshmallows for the body, white chocolate for dipping, pretzels for arms, kabob sticks for the “bones”, and some chocolate chips, red hots, and some frosting to finish Frosty up! (And, apparently, a pair of little boys’ feet….!) The boys loved this fun activity – and it was easy, too!
Ali, Emily and I made these Valentine Pom Poms….all you need is styrofoam balls, cupcake liners, and pins. We got the idea here.
My sister-in-law made my boys these fun “Prayer Sticks”. Each stick has a name of a family member or friend on it…and every night, they get to pick two or three sticks and we say a special prayer for the person listed on the stick. The boys just LOVE this every night – and it’s actually quite amazing the prayers they say for the person! Thanks, Aunt Ali!
I made these “Bubble Gum Bribes” Jars for my sister and sister-in-laws for Valentine’s Day. I got the idea on a blog, but cannot find it for the life of me now….but I think they turned out pretty cute! (Jar was $4.99, bubble gum was $3, and then just paper and printer ink! My sister helped me with the jar labels- thanks, Heather!)
We always do homemade valentines for Joey and Maddox’s school friends. This year’s theme was “Happy Valentine’s Day to One of My Favorite Peeps!” We just put two Valentine Peeps into a little bag and added a tag!
The boys spent some time outside making a snowman….our snowmen are always a little white trash….we don’t always have carrotts and coal, so they get stuck with a celery nose and oreo cookie eyes, and cornnut buttons! Oh well!
And, we started off our Valentine morning with these babies….and we have a little Valentine party planned for tonight with the boys!
Hope you’re doing something fun to celebrate! Happy Valentine’s Day!
