Joeyisms and Mad Dawgies

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

One day, I had Joey home with me and Maddox was at Lisa's....
Joey: Mom, it feels weird with only three people in our family. It doesn't look the same without Maddox, does it?

Over Christmas...
Joey: Mom, was that Santa at Gma and Gpa's house real?
Me: Well, what do you think?
Joey: No, I don't think so.
Me: Well, Santa does have a lot of helpers - he cannot be everywhere at once.
Joey: Ohhhhhh....you mean Santa has robots? That is so cool.

At bedtime during prayers...
Maddox: Joey, will you pray for me?
Joey: Why? Nothing is wrong with you. You're not sick.
Maddox: Yes, remember??? My scratch??? The blood???
Joey: Fine. Dear God, please heal my brother's scratch. (rolling his eyes)
Maddox: That wasn't very long. It should have been longer.

After watching the news...
Joey: Mom, can Earthquacks kill you? (think he meant EarthQUAKES!)

Randomly....
Me: Joey, every night, I thank God for giving me you.
Joey: Oh yeah? Well, every night I thank God I look like this! (I think he was trying to say that he thanks God for giving me him but it came out a little vain....)

Randomly...
Maddox: Mom, I know how old God is.
Me: How old?
Maddox: 69. Duh.

On the way home from Grandma and Grandpa's house in the car....
Joey: Ughhhhh....why doesn't Papa Cecil just tell us what heaven is like?
Me: Because he loves it so much that he doesn't want to come back to tell us. He wants to stay in heaven.
Joey: Yeah, but I just want to know if heaven has a Batcave. All Papa Cecil has to do is tell me really, really quick.
Me: Yeah, I know but he's so busy, and remember what I told you? Heaven has everything we could ever want or need - so I think God may have a Batcave for you.
Joey: How do you KNOW that, mom?
Me: I just feel it in my heart. Sometimes, if you listen really, really close, you can hear God.
Joey: Um, I'm listening right now, mom and I don't hear a thing.
Dad: Joey, you just have to believe, okay?
Joey: Fine. I'll believe.

Joey, showing me a stain on his stuffed animal...
Joey: Mom, do you think this will stain?
Me: yes, probably, popsickles are hard to get out, Joey.
Joey: Well, not if you have OxiClean. OxiClean gets tough stains out, mom.

What I overheard in their bedroom....
Maddox (singing): Nationwide is on your butt side....
Joey (singing): Nationwide is on your poopy side...
(They would giggle and laugh after singing each line- they were cracking themselves up. Seriously, we cannot resist from putting the words 'poop' or 'fart' or 'butt' into every song we sing.)

Maddox: Mom, I'm gonna play football some day.
Me: Yep, you are. Who are you going to play for?
Maddox: Well, first I will play for Dowling, okay? Then, I will play for Michigan. And, then I will play for the New York Jets.
Me: Oh, I didn't know you liked the New York Jets, Maddox.
Maddox: Um, yeah, I do, a lot of Michigan football players have played for the Jets so I think I will really like it.
Me: Oh, well, mommy would be sad because you would move far away and I would never see you.
Maddox: No, mom, you can come with and live with me and I will protect you. EXCEPT during football games.
Me: Well, of course not, mommy will be in the stands watching you then.
Maddox: Yes, you can live with me because Joey doesn't want you.
Me: Well, thank you, Maddox. Mommy is actually a lot of fun in college, so I think you'll like having me around.
Maddox: Yep, I will, mom. I will.
(The funny thing is, the night before, Joey had just told me AGAIN that he plans on going to college and I can't go with him, BUT that he would come home to visit me so he can play with his toys.)

To Be Continued....
