A day in the life...

Every now and then I like to post a "hour by hour" schedule of my day home with the boys...I don't do it very often but I'd love to be able to look back at my mom's schedule with us from years ago- to see what she was doing, how she handled it, what she all had going on. So, I do it mainly to look back and remember what these days are like- because I'm sure I will forget.

Here was our day on Tuesday!

6:30 a.m. - Maddox is up and in my room!
7 a.m. - I finally get up and attend to Maddox.
7:15 a.m. - Maddox tells me he doesn't like me because I won't give him licorice for breakfast. I serve him a "real" breakfast.
7:30 a.m. - Joey wakes up
7:50 a.m. - Serve Joey breakfast and turn on cartoons. Maddox shoots hoops. I check my work emails.
8 a.m. - Get both boys dressed.
9 a.m. - Drop Joey off at school. Drop his registration forms off in the office. I introduce Maddox to one of the preschool directors there, and he picks his nose and then looks at his finger.
9:15 - 10:45 a.m. - Go to Dahls for Groceries. Then, go to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get new bed sheets. Then, go to Walgreens to get some multi-vitamins.
10:45 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. - Arrive home with Maddox. Fold laundry. Put sheets in washer. Maddox asks me to watch him go poop. After telling him "no" 3 times, I finally go up there, sit in the bathroom and we have a full conversation while he continues to poop.
11:30 a.m. - Pick Joey up at school. He tells me he had a bad day at school because he never got to draw me a picture. Mrs. Gamble gives him a new picture to take home and color.
11:45 a.m. - Pick up cupcakes at Carefree Patisseries for Maddox's Baptism Birthday. Also, pick out 3 cupcakes for a good friend having a hard time at work. Drop off her cupcakes on the front step.
12:15 p.m. - Arrive at home and realize that I've driven the entire morning with a water bottle on the dash by the window wipers. Nice. Make lunch at home - serve them Lunchables and turn on Spectacular Spiderman.
12:45-1:20 p.m. - Play time!
1:20- Naptime for everyone. All of us lay down.
2 p.m. - I hear a knock on my bedroom door. I find Maddox completely naked and telling me he needs help. I soon learn that he has diarrhea in his pants and couldn't make it to the bathroom. So, I clean up a huge mess and throw away his dirty underwear and pants. This would disappoint my Gma Phyllis but I can't stand that smell- I just have to throw that stuff away. I will not keep dirty underwear.
2:15 p.m. - I decide a nap is not in my future, so I get up and clean the whole house, finish folding laundry, and Joey cons his way into "resting" versus napping. I also check work email.
4 p.m. - Get boys snacks and sippies out.
4:15 p.m. - Maddox wakes up from nap
4:45 p.m. - Talk to my cousin, Jenny on the phone. Get supper ready.
5- 6 p.m. - Make supper, empty dishwasher, set table, clean up kitchen, talk to my sister. Boys play a game where they throw things down the steps and knock down things at the bottom of the step. As a result, my whole kitchen ends up at the bottom of the steps, including my purse dumped over.
6 p.m. - Eat supper - buffalo chicken pizza!
7 p.m. - We decide to go to Barnes and Noble to pick out new books. The boys each picked out a new book and so do I!
8:15 p.m. - Arrive home. Get out cupcakes for Maddox's Baptism Birthday!
8:30 p.m. - Begin bedtime routine- brush teeth, go potty, read book, drink water, give kisses.
9 p.m. - Joe and I in bed!!! Another day gone....and exhausted!
