We headed up to Ely, Minnesota last weekend for a little getaway. Joe's parents have a place there with his uncles. Usually, we go and there's lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers or sisters with us, but this year it was just us with Uncle Mike & Aunt Bobbye! We had a great time- the weather was perfect, the drive was as good as can be expected with two little ones, the food was awesome, and we fit in all the "usuals". We went fishing, we went jet-skiing, we went on a boat ride, we went fishing 3 more times, we went into town shopping (just Bobbye & I), we went tubing (Joey's first time!), and we ate A LOT! It was very relaxing and it was fun just watching the boys. Watching their eyes at the sight of their first fish, watching them tube, listening to them get up in the morning with such excitement to get down to the beach, and hearing Joey repeat his mom's words "It's vacation- you can do anything you want!"On the way to Ely, we did make a stop in Duluth at an indoor water park resort. The boys loved every minute of it. I didn't take my camera (surprise) because I just wanted to enjoy them. But, there was a lazy river, a huge slide, little slides, and more. It was perfect no matter what age your kids were. The boys are still talking all about it!
