So....I have a small confession to make....Father's Day kind of got overlooked this year. I have excuses ready- not to worry. We were in Carroll for the Bud Open. We had Joey's birthday. We are trying not to spend so much money. Joe is going on a fishing trip with his dad this year so that was his gift. So...it was kind of overlooked. So, I thought I'd dedicate this post to him...
Why is he the world's greatest dad and husband????
He can fill any down-time with wrestling and rough-housing.
He taught Joey how to play Dr. Oct on the computer.
Speaking of computers, he can fix ANY computer. Unfortunately, this is not a kept-secret and he frequently receives computer questions, or computers sitting at our door step with notes on them that say "Fix me."
He knows all of the up and coming technology gadgets AND knows how to use them. And, he has stopped getting frustrated with me for my lack of interest, and instead embraces it.
He is annoyingly good at any game involving athleticism- mad skillz as they say. But, I am a better ice skater. Even though we've only gone once, I clearly had an edge on him.
He knows every sport and every player and every rule and every statistic. When playing Trivial Pursuit, he would choose the Orange wedge every time, people.
He is easy to please- especially on vacations. Give him the sun, a drink, a towel and his sunglasses and he is good for 7 days straight.
He is amazingly patient with me. And, he knows when I'm beyond the point of rationalization and just need him to listen.
He is not annoyed by crying children and can actually carry conversations, drive for hours on end and pay bills - not the least bit bothered by the high-pitch screams.
His surprises are the best. Like when he painted the kitchen cupboards while I was at Cousins Weekend. Or, when I came home from Cape Cod, and he conquered by Honey-Do list, AND painted my office and office furniture.
He rarely gets mad, rarely raises his voice, never holds a grudge, but if you mess with his friends or family, you are going to be sorry. Very, very sorry. His loyalty is second to none.
He is an active, everyday dad. He changes diapers. He does bathtimes. He plays. He takes Joey to movies. He goes to doctor appointments. He picks Joey up from school.
Joey and Maddox don't know how good they have it yet, but someday, they will. They are SO lucky to have him in their corner - and so am I! Happy Father's Day, Dad!
