I was surprised to see I received my first blog award! Seriously, very honored and have always wanted to make an acceptance speech for an award, so here it is:
I definitely want to thank the Academy. And, I'd like to thank my mom and dad who have always been there for me. I'd like to thank those who were in the running for this award- I can't believe I received it with such a talented pool of bloggers to choose from. This is truly an honor- I certainly hope it's not the last award I receive. Lastly, I'd like to thank God - without Him, all of this would be impossible. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Then, in the "green room" after I receive the award....this is how my interview with Ryan Seacrest would go.
Ryan: You didn't mention your husband in your acceptance speech. Is he here tonight, did you forget him or is something going on that we don't know about?
Me: Oh my goodness (tears running down my cheeks)....I cannot believe I forgot to thank my husband! How silly of me! Yes, I'd like to thank my husband- my rock, my foundation, my everything. He has seen me through thick and thin- through hours and hours of blogging, he's never complained. Thank you, honey!
In Hollywood, we would then get divorced two weeks later. But, in the REAL Holly Wood (okay, dumb play on words), we live happily ever after.
It's only fair that I try to tell a couple of cute stories on the day I get this award. Here's some Joeyisms to finish this blog off.
Me: Joey, pick those toys up- I told you to do that an hour ago.
Joey: My bad, mom- my bad.
Me: Joey, have you seen Remsy? I can't find her.
Joey: I put her outside, mom. She is driving me NUTS.
Joey: Dad, do you remember when Papa Mark said to me, "Joey- I think you are full of CRAPOLA." Do you remember that, dad? That was so funny. Remember????
Joe: Tomorrow in school, Joey, you're going to learn about what you want to be when you grow up. What do you want to be, Joey:
Joey: A football player!
And, that my friends, is how you make a daddy's day. I might have even caught a tear in Joe's eye, pride was beaming all over this daddy.
Joe: Let's make that a Michigan football player.
And, in school today, they had to finish this sentence...What makes Joey smile?
Joey's answer: Daddy wrestling me.
Again- two points for daddy. Count 'em.
Me: Joey, what did you dream about last night?
Joey: I didn't have any dreams, mom, because I had Cecil with me, remember? (Joey's puppy's name is Cecil and he takes away the bad dreams).
Me: Oh, that's right.
Joey: You know how you told me to pray last night, mom?
Me: Yes
Joey: Well, I did not fold my hands but I did pray and this is what I said- "Dear Jesus, please take Papa Cecil care of." And, then he smiled big, and then he took his hand and rubbed my hair and hugged my neck.
And, just when you wonder if you're doing anything right in this parenting game, a moment like that comes along and you think to yourself - Yep, I'm doing SOMETHING right. Not everything- but something. And, that's all that matters.
Oh- I'd also like to thank all the "little people" along the way who helped me earn this blog....including this fellow blogger who gave me the award. Check her out- adorable and loveable. http://adbeckerlife.blogspot.com/

Hey, tell Joe that Joey is going to be a kicker. For Wisconsin. (I'd even take Iowa. Anything but Michigan.)
And we named our puppy C.C. because we figured it was the closest thing to Cecil that she would be able to say anytime within the next six months. (Or a year?) And then, of course, we will teach her to say Holly. And "silly" right before it. ;)
HollyWood, really. Seriously.
Joeyisms are hilarious. My bad. Super hilarious.
