THIRTEEN YEARS OLD. Where did the time go? I cannot believe we've got a real live teenager! Joey was actually really looking forward to turning 13....it was pretty cute....so, I tried to make his big day a little extra special for him....
The morning Joey got up on his 13th birthday, I had all of his photo books from all of the years out on the table. I also had big balloons set out for him, and a few little momentos....
For his birthday, we got him a backpack and a hat that he really wanted. We also got him 13 lottery tickets....it was really fun to do those throughout the day! We all loved it! And, we won a whole $2!
That night, we had all the family over to celebrate his big day! We swam, we had cake, we opened presents!
Joey got a lot of great gifts....a 3D pen, a hat rack, Dowling shorts, a school backpack, money....
His favorite gift, by far, was the gift from Uncle Kyle and Aunt Emily! He was asked to be the godfather of their baby! He was so surprised and SO happy. He even got a little tear in his eye as he read the card from them! I was surprised too! It was such a cool moment!
Honestly....it was just a fun day overall. So far, we have none of the "usual" teenager stuff yet....but I'm sure our day is coming. But, he has just been such a joy to parent....sometimes I can't believe how much one can love another human being....and on his 13th birthday, I thought my heart just might explode. It was a good day to have a good day.
