Over Christmas break, there was a "nice" day that we had nothing to do so I "made" the kids go ice skating. They did NOT want to go. It was an epic meltdown over me making them do something they didn't know how to do and did not want to learn how to do. But, being the awful mom I am, I made them do it anyway. We got there right at 10 a.m. at opening to avoid a lot of people. We were the first on the rink!
The whole hour was hilarious. I laughed so hard, the boys laughed, the boys fell on their faces, their butts, their sides....they spent more time on the ground than they did on their feet. The great thing about it was that they laughed through it all. I was afraid they would be frustrated but they weren't! They giggled and giggled and giggled. Saylor did okay....she skated with me a lot, and with the little scooter thing you can rent. She wanted to learn how to do it though - she kept saying "I know I can do it! I just need to keep trying!" So, the whole morning was encouraging...it's safe to say that we won't be playing hockey ever but it was still fun!
After we went ice skating, I took the kids to Olive Garden. Joey seriously had this on his bucket list. lol. He kept saying he really wanted to try Olive Garden. So, we went there and ended on a high note! It was a fun day....and the videos are even better!
