Annual Summer Ely Trip

We headed to Ely in July....it was a trip that was hard to fit in this year! We had only a limited amount of days due to work, weddings, baseball, etc. But, we weaved it in and managed to be with quite a few relatives there!

It was a good trip full of good food, conversations, tubing, cliff jumping, grilling, and more. However, on our last night there.....90 mph winds and thunderstorms occurred and this happened:

So...the power went out, we were unable to use toilets, or the sink, or the fridge, or anything. And, our saw was in the shop, and our generator was broken, and our car was stuck in a parking lot surrounded by trees. And, so that's when things started to go downhill....but the good news is that we were all okay, no one was hurt, and our cabin and cars survived miraculously!

This was also the year that nick took Sean and Julie's keys back to Iowa with him in his bag....good times!

Needless to say, we were all really happy to be home in our own beds this year, safe and sound!
