We're Going To Disney!!!!

Thursday, March 3, 2016

It took some time and dedication and negotiation skillz to convince Joe to go to Disney World! Joe and I's idea of a vacation is a beach, drinks and a pool. We are pretty easy vacationers....but I got him at least to acknowledge that our kids are not easy vacationers- WE are, but not our kids. Joey and Maddox are the type that like to be busy, doing things, seeing things, etc. Sure, they like to play on the beach....just not for 8 hours. Last year, Arizona was a good mix of pool time, with some local activities like golf and baseball mixed in. With Saylor turning 4 and the boys being at young ages still, it just seemed like a perfect time to go to Disney World. Right?!? Plus, so many people had told me that anyone who goes there will love it - even stuffy attorneys who don't like touristy stuff. Disney makes everyone happy, it doesn't exclude!

So, I planned a four day park trip....2 travel days, 4 days at the actual parks. We did not do Universal just because it was our first Disney trip, and I really didn't want to over-do it (see note above about Joe's vacation limits). So, I worked with a Disney agent, and I spent a lot of time on Pinterest, and WA LA, we had ourselves a Disney trip! Also, a major negotiating point was that my best friend from college lived in Orlando, and it was time to reunite!

Night One: Dinner at Ohana Restaurant at the Polynesian Hotel - a Hawaiian Luau. The food and drinks were AMAZING!!! The atmosphere was fun, and well, we were just excited to be at Disney!

The next day, we hit up Magic Kingdom with an early breakfast at Cinderella's Castle! I think Saylor didn't know what to do with herself...she was just thinking breakfast and she got so much more!

After breakfast, it was time to make our way through Magic Kingdom!! We did it! We conquered: Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, Bella's Enchanted Tales, Lunch at Be Our Guest, 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, and Stitch's Great Escape. We then headed back to the hotel for pool time and rest time!

After rest time, we hit Magic Kingdom up again and killed it until closing time! We did the Electrical Parade, Aladin's Carpet Ride, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fireworks, Space Mountain, Mad Tea Party Teacups, Prince Charming Regal Carousel, we met Cinderella (again) and Rapunzel, and had a late supper! It was a truly magical day!!

After we got home at 11 p.m., it was right to bed because this mom had everyone up again for the opening of Hollywood Studios! Woot Woot!
