For my father-in-law's 60th birthday, we had a nice supper at Ali and Cary's house. I have to say that us girls can bring together a meal pretty well if I do say so myself!
We served: Blueberry Mojitos (thanks, Kyle); Bacon-wrapped asparagus and mixed fruit (thanks, Kelly); appetizers of calamari, bruschetta, and bacon-wrapped dates (thanks to me and Biaggis); Smashed Potatoes and Lava Cakes (thanks, Ali) and steaks (thanks, Costco!). It was a great meal. We had some pre-dinner dancing by the kids; post-dinner wrestling by the kids; and a 60th birthday quiz taken by the boys about Daddy Joe. It was a fun and relaxing night had by all!
The boys watched the Lego movie....and definitely made it clear they did not want to watch Frozen!
The kids ate hot dogs downstairs while the adults had a peaceful meal to ourselves. Our kids are almost all at the ages where we can now eat in peace....Ali is about to ruin that in two weeks. ; )
We're missing the ladies and Brynn in the below photo but it's a goodsnapshot of the boys and the grandkids!
Sixty years has gone by....but we're all hoping the best is yet to come for Daddy Joe as he prepares for a career change and a location change to LaCrosse, Wisconsin! It was nice to have one nice family dinner before they took off on their new adventure!
