Every once in a while, I like to keep track of my day, hour by hour, so that someday, I'll look back and be reminded of how an average day looked in my life as a mom! Here's my day last Friday with all 3 kids home all day (Joey was on spring break)! Enjoy!

All in a day's work! I don't think it matters if you have 2 or 3 or 6 kids- busy is relative....busy is busy- you only know what you know. But, as I looked at how many times I had to stop and start activities because I was waking or feeding or changing a baby....it's pretty significant! Everything takes just a tad bit longer, and unfortunately, I can't just walk out the door in 30 seconds - we have to pack a diaper bag, pack the stroller, grab a blanket, make sure she's fed and changed, etc. It just takes more planning and more time! But, mostly, it takes patience! I have to remind myself that it's not going to all get done, that I have to slow down to play with the kids, and I can't say 'no' to everything just because I have a baby - sometimes I say 'yes' and just accept the fact that it's not going to be easy but it WILL be fine. There's rarely a day that goes by that I don't feel exhausted, completely spent. Some days, I wish there were more hours in the day; and some days, I wish there were less hours. That's just how our days are right now- very good, but always very full! Although I am tired at the end of the day, I'm usually not overwhelmed. I feel as if I have a good sense of control over our house, family, kids - it may look chaotic to others, but I feel as if it's under control. So, after six months of having 3 kids, that's a great feeling. But, you may want to check back in with me in a week - all heck can break loose at a moment's notice and that whole "control" thing can go right out the window!
