Today was Maddox's first day of 4-year old preschool! He was so excited when he woke up this morning to be going to school - just like Joey! He goes to school M-Thursday from 9 - 11:30 a.m. At 7:52 this morning, he asked me if he could get into the car and just wait for me! He was so excited. When I asked him to take some photos, he said, "No, I can't, Joey's not here." He loves his big brother! When I dropped him at his room, he walked in, grabbed his name card, and said "See ya, mom!" To be honest, it almost went "too" good for me to handle!
He had a great first day! Joe picked him up and said he was happy! What a difference a year makes....last year, it took him about 3 weeks to get acclimated to preschool...this year, he seems so old and grown-up....sigh....
In other school news...kindergarten is going great for Joey. All "green light" days thus far! But, as I told my sister, "I grossly underestimated the amount of work it is to have a child in school...". I guess I overlooked all the "work" that comes home....the book orders, the school spirit shirt orders, the tuition notices, the hot lunch fees, the hot lunch calendar, the homework, the calendars, etc. Keeping track of out-of-school uniform days, field trips, teacher conferences, snack days, mass days, etc is a full-time job in itself. I mean, I was used to a lot of that stuff with preschool, but in general,"real" school is still a lot more work...for any future moms of school-aged children!
