Maddox Cecil Turns Four!

Maddox turned four on August 19th - and to be honest, we were ready for the threes to be over and the fours to come! Knowing Maddox's love for Swamp People and River Monsters, we decided to do a gator party for his birthday! We celebrated at home on his actual day, and then we had the party with family on Sunday! I can't believe he's four....seems like forever ago when he was walking around in his diaper with a pacifier and a blankie....and even more odd that we will soon be entering that stage all over again!

Things I Love about Maddox:
* Every day, he asks the majority of these questions: Can we go fishing? Can we play basketball? Can you pitch to me? Can we play Wii Bowling? Can we do the Slip and Slide? Can we go on a bike ride? Do you want to race? Can you push me in the swing? Can we run through the sprinkler? Can we play catch? Can you play football with me? Can I go outside and dribble?
* He loves Michigan anything- just like his dad.
* His dad is definitely his favorite person, with Joey being a close second.
* He holds really good conversations on the phone.
* He likes to test out big words. The other night, he said, "Well, apparently, he did, Dad."  He has no idea what apparently means, but clearly wanted to use it in a sentence.
* He still has a blankie that we call "Bay-Bay" that he sleeps with.
* He is competitive in every sense of the word...he wants to make everything into a competition.
* We are still working on being a gracious loser.  We have a ways to go on this one.
* He is going to make a perfect middle child, and an awesome big brother.
* He loves his cousin, Carter, and likes to show Carter new things and teach him new things. Carter is the only cousin that Maddox is older than (that's close to his age) so I think he takes pride in taking Carter under his wing, even though he's not much older than Carter.
* He is cautiously outgoing....he's like his dad in that sense. It takes him a while to warm up to people and he doesn't branch out on his own - but once he loves you, he will love you forever.
