Three's Company

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

This past weekend, my roommate from college, Hannah, and her husband, Luke, were back in town for her induction into Simpson's Athletic Hall of Fame. Andrea and I joined in honoring Hannah at the banquet, and then we went out to our old hang-outs, The Zoo and Mojos, following the ceremony.

It was a fun night out....Hannah and I were paired up randomly as freshman roommates, and roomed together for the next four years. And, since Andrea and I were already high school friends, the three of us just clicked....we spent our four years at Simpson together - you could rarely find one of us, without finding another! It was fun thinking back to the good ol' days, remembering the good times, funny times, embarrassing moments (most of these included me) and all the things we used to do together.

Afterwards, Hannah and Luke stayed overnight with us. I've known Luke as long as I've known Hannah....and, all I can say is that there is only one Luke. He's one of a kind....and I consider him just as good of a friend.

Luke spent most of his Saturday at the mercy of the boys...poor guy. But, he took it like a champ. They loved having Luke to wrestle and play football with. The last pose is the "Bucking Bronco" that Luke created for the boys. They loved it.

The next morning, Maddox asked me, "Mom, when is that girl and boy coming back that stayed with us?" It makes me sad that we don't see them very much....but the great thing is that we always pick up exactly where we left off. It's an easy friendship - no work involved. That's always the best kind of friend in my opinion! Hopefully, a trip to Disneyland and a stay with Hannah and Luke will be in our near future!
