This year, we held Cousins Weekend at my house! Kelly, Kim and I were hosts and I think we did a bang-up job, if I do say so myself!
We planned a little "spa" night that included pedicures and facials!

We did a little scrapbooking which included a trip to the scrapbook store!

Jenny did a little modeling. I think she has potential.

I did a little tractor-riding, although I am unsure what is going on with my face. I think I must be one angry farmer or something.

And, of course, what would a Cousins Weekend be without the infamous sweater? Oh yes, I busted it out and I wore it out to On the Border that night! I asked the waiter if he liked my sweater and his response (no joke) was this: "Um, if I tell you the truth, are you going to tell my boss and get me fired?" And, I replied, "No. Please be honest." And, he replied, "Okay, I think it's ATROCIOUS." I think Jenny had her hopes up that he would say he LOVED it like his first-born child, but he did not.

This was a new look that I found to be well-received. Tied around my neck, it really took on a whole new look. I actually got served my beer immediately after that move. Clearly - a sign that I can still ROCK the sweater.

It was a great time and it was just great being around my cousins, talking about life, bragging about our kids, sharing our stories, getting advice, laughing our butts off, and relaxing. No kids, no husbands, just quality time with my cousins. It was exactly what I needed!
These girls are the reason why I make Joey's cousins a top priority in their lives. They are the reason that when Joey and Davis get in trouble together, I laugh instead of yell. They are the reason why when Grace calls to ask the boys to stay overnight, I always say yes. They are the reason why I love that Carter and Maddox will be in the same grade, tee-peeing their teachers' houses at the same time. What I teach them now about family will stay with them for a lifetime. And, I want them to know how important cousins are - lifelong friends that you will like for awhile, but love for a lifetime. And, if you're really, really lucky like I am - they will become a part of your kids' lives, too.
