3-year-old Graduation!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

My little 3-year-old, my heartbreaker, my charmer, my first baby, my gusher, my sweet thing GRADUATED today! From 3-year-old preschool, that is. He participated in a little program and sang his little ol' heart out. He made this little mama very proud. He smiled, he waved, he even BLEW KISSES. Yep- you heard it here first. My son blew his cheering section kisses!! The cheering section consisted of his Aunt Kelly, Uncle Tony, Uncle Cary, Grandma Bobbi and Joe and I. Unfortunately, my whole family had to work! Bummer! But, Grandma Sheila called this morning to wish him luck!

They sang 10 songs probably including one song "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" that Joey has known for a long, long time. He told me one day, "Mom, you know the part where we say "Root, Root, Root for the Cubbies...?" And, I said, "Yes" and he said, "Mrs. Donner says we have to say 'home team'- we can't say Cubbies!" Anyway, during that song, the teachers gave them their baseball caps. Joey gets his, then bends the bill of it just like daddy does, then puts it on, and then five seconds later, turns it around and wears it backward the whole time. With God as my witness, he was the CUTEST 3-year-old up there. All truth. No lyin'.
And, following the program, a mom came up to me and said, "Joey really stole the show. He really did." And, this blushing mama said, "Oh, gosh....all of those kids are SO cute....just adorable" but inside I was screaming, "TELL ME SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW."
Here is my proof. Happy Graduation, Joey!

Looks so much like his daddy here! I can't believe how he's grown up. My favorite part of Joey is how happy he is to see you - his eyes light up and he says !HEATHER! I didn't even know you would be here!' I love it when he does that.
