Two posts in one day- wow. I'm even impressing myself. But, I needed to share this. I asked my friend, Andrea, who is stationed in Iraq to describe a 'typical day' for me and here's what she responded. I just think it's kind of nice to know what she's doing. Sometimes I wake up at 2:30 a.m. to go calm Maddox down and I think of her....and think....wow, she just started work. (Okay, I'm aware there is a time difference between here and Iraq but I think you get the concept!) I'm still not sure what "work" consists of for her, but I like to think it's something very cool and important- like loading missles into a big shooter-thingy (yes, that's what they are called), or walking a little Iraqi child to school, or maybe pinpointing exactly where Bin Laden might be hiding (I picture her staring at a map with little arrows all over it). But, even if she's not doing those things, I know she's doing something for our country that most of us are incapable (or unwilling) of doing. I also feel like it's important for you to know how far Andrea has come....the photo below is of her in 7th Grade in Canada with her first 'beer' - Labatts. Andrea and I went to Canada with our dads for a father/daughter trip. Our dads thought they were going to fish and bond....we thought we were going to hang out at the lodge with two boys we had just met (and fell in love with). Boy, were we wrong. Our dads were never so mad at us that night they had to come get us and drag us out of the lodge. We were scared- very scared. Our punishment was to get up the next morning and go fishing at 4 a.m. in bitter cold weather (AGAIN!) all day long (AGAIN!). Seriously, if we had known our dads were so serious about the "fishing" part of the "fishing trip" they had planned, we may have re-considered our response. Still, this trip is one of my fondest memories of growing up. Andrea and I still laugh about things we said and did and the trouble we got into. Turns out, the boy at the lodge and I were NOT meant to be (shocker); and turns out Andrea DID like beer as much as she appears to like it in this photo. (No, mom and Susie, we did not really drink it, it was just for photo purposes. Geez.).
Here's to my friend, Andrea....how I wish you were here sharing a Labatts with me right now.

5-530pm- leave for the gym

By the way, Andrea, love your shirt. Is that three saxophones on the front? Totally hot. You are money.

Could you have found a cuter picture of me? Wait....nope. That was definitely my ugly stage. So what that is lasted four years?? You were so pretty back then- maybe you should put up some of your pictures too! Canada rocked. Minus the fishing. Loved the fish olympics. And tugging on our dad's line over and over to make them think they had a fish. And throwing the cheese puffs into the water so all the sea gulls would come and scare the fish away. Best vacation ever! I should really try to do my hair like that again.
Andrea was hot!:) Love that pic...
