A Saturday with nothing to do!

Welcome to my blog! I'd like to say this is the start of something big- or something special - but for me, it's just some of my favorite memories, quotes, people, stories, websites and more. I was inspired by my older sister's blog. I love reading about my neices because you can't possibly share every cute story about your kids or your life, so blogging is a good way to do so. You can write as much as you want- and if no one wants to read it, that's okay! My sister has two sweet girls, Gracie and Maya. They'll LOVE reading their mom's blog when they get older- especially when they have children of their own. I often ask myself, "I wonder how mom handled it" or "I don't know how mom did it." And, I wish I could just read a little chapter out of her day back in 1982- when I was 4, my sister was 7 and my brother was just born. So, I hope this will be a gift my kids will someday appreciate. Sometimes with boys, you ask yourself "Will they really appreciate this?" If they don't, maybe their wives will someday. I know I would love to see what life in the Coppola household was like years ago! So, to Joey and Maddox - and your wives (not for a very, very, very long time), this is for you. I apologize in advance for my complete honesty.

Today is Saturday, April 12. You'd think it'd be a nice warm spring day in Iowa- but we were greeted with snow this morning. I took Joey outside and we caught the snowflakes on our tongue and then we yelled at them to go away because we're ready to play outside! It should be no surprise- Joe and I were married 5 years ago in April and it not only snowed, but we had an all-out icestorm. Iowa weather is unpredictable and I often think I was meant to be born in Florida but somehow at the last minute, God chose Iowa. I'm thankful he did.

So, today is one of those rare days where we have nothing scheduled! No appointments, no errands, no parties, no have-tos....it's going to be wonderful. Joey is running around in his diaper, Maddox is napping, Joe is watching ESPN (like any good dad should be doing), and I'm writing.

The best part of today (or last night) is that Uncle Tony made is safely home from Honduras, and we all let out a sigh of relief. He went on a mission trip, and as a doctor, used a little bit of his medical knowledge, but a lot more of his heart, to serve the underprivileged in Honduras. We have yet to hear all about his trip, but are anxious to do so.

Well, I have lots (or nothing) to get to today, so I'll sign off for now! I hope you enjoy my blog!
